Losing at Mini Golf

Sometimes losing at mini golf means that you lose your passenger seat privileges when driving to family vacation destinations.

And you're also responsible for single-handedly packing for every member of your family for such weekend adventures.

Sometimes you leave for family vacations at 9:00pm because your son has a soccer game...and then you still have four-ish hours to drive.

And you hate it when Wal-Mart is out of theater-sized boxes of Nerds.

Then your two year old poops while leaving Wal-Mart and you have to go back in the store to change him while everyone waits for you.

Sometimes on the way back out of the store your silly two year old must be carried like a sack of grain because you're 26 weeks pregnant and he won't stop kicking.

And occasionally, once you finally buckle the wiggly boy and yourself back in the car, you're reminded by your husband that the five year old needs a pull-up and pajamas and he didn't pack so he doesn't know where to find them in the mess that is the trunk.

So, sometimes when you're so sick of getting in and out and standing up, then down and packing and unpacking things over and over, when you close the trunk you do it rather forcefully.  And your husband's bike is in the back with everything else.  And the trunk door bonks his tire.  And he gasps with worry.  And then it might be your fault if the spokes on his precious cycling wheels have been bent. And you hate the fact that he is more interested in what Cougarboard has to say than you do...and maybe it's because he's still upset about the trunk door.

And you are spent.  And you still have to drive for four hours.  And you don't have a big box of nerds.  And you hope the kids will go to sleep.  And that your husband will start talking to you again.

All because you lost at Mini Golf.
