The Great Devastator

Aaron has entered primary, and I couldn't be happier with how he has transitioned.  I attended with him on the first day of the year, and since then he has severed his mommy ties on his own and happily trotted to primary after sacrament meeting.  Phew. (knock on wood).

Well, last week he was assigned to give the scripture in the microphone.  We have been very excited.  I came home and printed the scripture off and posted it on our door: 2 Nephi 2:27.  It reads, "Wherefore...men are free to choose liberty and eternal life through the great mediator of all men."

As soon as we started practicing the words, Aaron made a very important connection.  Mediator and Devastator rhyme.  For all of you who do not spend your days reading books about transformers, you must know that The Devastator nearly sucked the sun away from planet earth, and would have if it weren't for the bravery of the Optimus Prime and the Autobots.

Well, we had an important discussion about the big difference between the Mediator and the Devastator.  The Great Mediator is Jesus Christ and saved all humans on Earth, in contrast with the Devastator who wanted the exact opposite.  It was a great conversation.

But, every time we recite that scripture, Aaron giggles and sometimes switches the words.  Let's home he isn't in too silly of a mood, come Sunday.
