Fire Man
Last week we took a trip to the fire station. Like most two year old boys, he loves firetrucks. It was hilarious to see him in complete and utter awe.
Pointing with one finger couldn't adequately express his excitement, so he used two.
Funny thing is that he kept a strict "arm's length" rule around the trucks. Though the firemen gave him plenty of opportunities to crawl around inside, he resisted. He only dared pet the trucks like they were large, friendly beasts. But, he was thrilled about driving the station lawnmowers.
The fire(wo)men were awesome. They did a few drills, explained the different parts of the engines, and even let us try on some of the gear. Aaron didn't want to, but he was pretty amused when I did.
There was one funny mishap during a drill. The fire(wo)men forgot to inform the drill viewers that the water first squirts out of the side of the hydrant before shooting into the hose. And, sadly there were a few kiddos who got hosed. After the shock of the moment was over, we all had a good laugh.
It was a great morning at the fire station. I think we'll go again soon.
Anyone want to come?

Maybe DI will have a firetruck sale. Then he can have his own to drive around the apartment.

I can't get over how big your little boy is. And so handsome. I'm sure he was a hoot to observe at the fire station. He's truly All Boy.
