Aaron learned a new trick: a whistle. It has been a work in progress for a few months. It began by with a mimicked "whistle" expression and a vocalized screech--mostly at BYU basketball games. He would screech the popular cheer tunes whistled by his daddy. Then, he branched out into other realms of whistle screeches, mostly copying whatever tune Jonny whistled at any particular moment. For those of you who don't know (I don't know how you couldn't) Jonny could win a national whistle competition, I'm sure of it. In fact, I know that the financial future of our family is secure of his unnatural whistling talent. He's that good.
And, it looks like we have another whistling prodigy in the works. Just a few days ago, Aaron developed a true born-from-his-breath whistle. He's been showing everyone--all his classmates at school, approaching neighbors in the hall (something he usually does not do), and especially showing off to Jonny and me. He wears such a priceless satisfied expression on his face when he hits his true whistle tone--especially when he shows Jonny. (When he shows me, he's more apt to instruct me on how to form my mouth correctly to stretch for my own true whistle--something that has never really developed). It is awesome. Ask him about it. He would love to show you.
